The concept of Synct comes from being deeply imbedded in the builder/founder community for more than a year. During that time, we observed several core challenges worth solving.

1 - Fragmented Communities

Sure, there are large groups of us on social media platforms like Reddit or X, but then many get pulled into various Discord channels or Telegram groups. Members post less on the large social platforms and more in their private group. And these more private groups start of great and exciting, then start lagging in participation ... shrink ... and die out. Those who are left in the group limp back to the larger social platform only to repeat the entire process again.

2 - Artificial Engagement

One of the reasons so many people break off into Discord or Telegram groups is because the larger platforms are filled with low-value engagement bait, AI reply bots, etc. In fact, the problem is so prevalent it often breaks into the private groups from time to time and has to be banned quickly. No one wants this low-value stuff ... it wastes all of our time.

3 - Scattered Tools

There are a lot of apps and tools out there that can help us out with building, with distribution, with messaging, and more. But they're so scattered and varied that it's a challenge just to find and pick through them all. And then you have to go 7-8 different places to use them. We need a toolbox with a variety of tools inside of it, not random tools scattered all over the place.

We're solving that with:

1 - A Shared Home with Private Spaces

Our Parlor is like an X feed. Our Library is like Reddit. And our Rooms handle your Discord or Telegram private groups. It's like a giant co-working space where you can break out into a private office anytime you want or need, but can always easily return to the public space and keep up with the community-at-large. Rooms can be public or private, temporary or persistent, and support text, voice and video group chats.

2 - User-Driven Filtering

Anyone can visit Synct and look through posts in the Parlor or Library (even without logging in), so posts are sharable throughout the web. But anyone who wants to post or comment themselves must register -- and must pass an "are you human" check through a temporary (never charged) authorization of $1.00 on a valid credit card. That alone will keep a lot of bots out, but it doesn't guarantee quality posts or the absence of engagement-bait. For that, we have a 'downvote' system -- Flagging. Flag a post or comment as slop, stolen, or an ad and it is recorded. When a post is downvoted enough, it's hidden. Users earn their way up from Applicant, to Builder, to Artisan by posting high value content and can choose to filter posts based on their earned trust.

3 - Unified Tool Hub

(Under rapid development) What if you could select from a list of tools that you use and keep them all on your sidebar, interacting with each individual app through the same hub (Synct)? We're not aiming to own all those tools ... but rather to support the tools of other builders and founders, working together with them to bring benefit to everyone. We're building out the basics quickly with Page, Boost, and Blog ... and are already working hand-in-hand with Directory services to make the process of submitting to them both quick and easy.
