This policy is intended to meet common app-store and platform review expectations (including Google Play, Apple App Store, and Microsoft Store) regarding transparency about data collection and use. It does not constitute legal advice.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how AeonVox LLC ("AtSynct.com," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit https://atsynct.com, use our applications, or otherwise interact with our community platform (the "Service").
We designed AtSynct.com for builders and creators who expect clarity about data use. This policy applies to visitors, waitlist signups, and registered members.
By using the Service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who is responsible for your data
For purposes of applicable privacy laws, the team operating the Synct platform at atsynct.com is the controller of personal information processed through the Service.
Contact us about privacy at privacy@atsynct.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
Information we collect
We collect information in three broad ways: information you provide, information generated through your use of the Service, and information from third-party sign-in or payment providers.
- Account and profile: When you register, we receive information from Google or GitHub sign-in (such as name, email address, and profile image) and information you add (username, bio, and profile photo you upload).
- User content: Posts, comments, images, room messages, kanban cards, notes, calendar entries, and related metadata you submit in communities or rooms.
- Engagement and quality signals: Upvotes, flags (e.g., slop, stolen content, advertising), tier status, activity points, notifications, and membership in communities or rooms.
- Usage and activity: Login events, daily visit records, and backend activity events used to operate the Service and improve tier and quality systems.
- Waitlist and early access: If you join a waitlist or enter an invite flow, we store the email address you submit.
- Payment verification: To reduce spam and abuse at signup, we use Stripe to place a temporary card authorization (currently USD $1.00). Stripe processes card details; we receive Stripe customer and payment intent identifiers, verification status, and limited billing metadata—not your full card number.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies or similar technologies used for authentication and security (see Cookies below).
- Communications: If you email us, we retain the content of your message and your contact details to respond and maintain records.
How we use information
We use personal information to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Specific purposes include:
- Creating and managing your account and profile.
- Displaying public posts and profiles where you or the content are marked public or visible to other members.
- Operating communities, the Parlor and Library feeds, rooms, notifications, and tier features.
- Processing signup verification through Stripe and preventing fraud or abuse.
- Measuring engagement and maintaining activity points and quality signals for community health.
- Sending service-related messages (for example, important account or security notices).
- Complying with law, enforcing our Terms of Service, and protecting users and the platform.
- Analyzing aggregated or de-identified usage to improve features and reliability.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar requirements, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: Processing needed to provide the Service you request (account, posting, communities).
- Legitimate interests: Securing the platform, preventing abuse, improving features, and operating merit-based community systems, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: Where required—for example, optional marketing if we offer it in the future, or non-essential cookies if we enable them.
- Legal obligation: When we must retain or disclose data to comply with law.
Public content and search
Assume that posts, comments, and profile fields you make available in public areas may be copied, indexed by search engines, or viewed by people who do not have an account. You are responsible for what you choose to share.
You may be able to reduce visibility through product settings where we offer them; some historical public content may remain in backups for a limited period.
How long we keep information
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, unless a longer period is required by law or legitimate business need (for example, dispute resolution or security logs).
When you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (payment verification logs, legal holds, or backup cycles). Content you posted may be removed or attributed to a deleted user depending on community needs.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process, including access controls and encryption in transit where supported by our providers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk; please protect your sign-in accounts and devices.
International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA or UK. Contact us for more information about transfer mechanisms we use.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent where processing is consent-based.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@atsynct.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern.
California privacy notice
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, may provide additional rights regarding personal information.
In the preceding twelve months we may collect identifiers, account information, commercial information (payment verification metadata), internet activity, and user-generated content as described above. We collect this information for the business purposes listed in this policy.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law.
You may request access, deletion, or correction of personal information, and information about our practices, by contacting us at the email above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@atsynct.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the 'Last updated' date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy, subject to applicable law.
